*chuckle* Why in the world would you figure labor into the price of a hobby? With that mindset, I spent $25k last year playing MMOs. It's entertainment, not a job. I cringe when people pad the costs of their simpits. It scares off new builders. ;)

Wow,,, but actually at $30.00/hr. The amount of time I spend at this would certainly add up to plenty of money! lol

I didn't see an overhead panel in the video??

too much money for that, for that price you can get yourself a real nose section with everything else you need.

But what I am wondering is what software he using as a glasscockpit, is it PM or something else.

No pedestal panels, no overhead... at least not on the pictures on the site! And I think the software is called FlightGear:

The FlightGear flight simulator project is an open-source, multi-platform, cooperative flight simulator development project. Source code for the entire project is available and licensed under the GNU General Public License.

The goal of the FlightGear project is to create a sophisticated flight simulator framework for use in research or academic environments, for the development and pursuit of other interesting flight simulation ideas, and as an end-user application. We are developing a sophisticated, open simulation framework that can be expanded and improved upon by anyone interested in contributing.

There are many exciting possibilities for an open, free flight sim. We hope that this project will be interesting and useful to many people in many areas.

what you dont work out the price by the amount of labout put in - that's stupid:mad: it takes a long time to make paper but it's not expensive and as for the 100K price valuation i think you know my opinions on that!

Exactly!!!! Well said Gwyn :)

I have a feeling it was a University project or something like that, unlimited (well maybe) funds. Oh and what was that about a Custom interface made by Hagstrom????? Obviously these guys don't know about MyCockpit.org :) :)

Oh, let me ad, it DOES look good, it's the money part that gets me going. I'm sure there's a lot of effort/hard work that went into it and I congratulate them for that. We just picking on the 100K :) :)

I don't think they built that. I think that was a kit that they bought on eBay :p

5000 hours and 100k. Sounds like they have done some mistakes in their research then;). The sim should been state of the art and complete for that money. But it sure is looking good.

Mine is at approximately 1500 hours work at the moment(only me working by myself), and approx 30000 bucks spent (from bank-robbery ). Then I have also complete overhead (fore and aft), yokes, TQ, complete mip, software, projectors, two radios and a sproose goose shell:lol:.

It aint cheap this hobby, but the cost isnt like a Brand new 7-series either;)

I agree Matt. He nevr heard of us. We could've shown him how to spend that much money and get twice the sim for it....
