The 8800GT 256 are even cheaper than that. I could expand upon how I prefer EVGA, but I'm a bit bias. Any 8800GT based card has a sweet spot for pricing/performanace atm. I'm looking into selling my 2 8800GTS 320's and dropping 4 8800GT 256 into my 790FX spider motherboard sometime this year.

Wow four cards on one mainboard. How many more frames will that bring in the FSX??? Just had a look at the board, wow is the only thing that I can say.

Cheers Norbert

It's all about the DVI outs available for screens in that setup. Should prove for a nice glass cockpit setup given a bit of design work on it. 2 outs to horizontal-span for the outside view, the rest for glass cockpit. It's not a SLI capable board, because it's crossfire spider based, but then again I'm not going to be using the hardware for SLI. :)

I'm a bit weird when it comes to simpit design approach. I look at the computer and display aspects before I even nail down my preference in aircraft type. I'm a very visual based gamer. I like surround-screen and projector based gaming in general. I already have 4 cards in that setup, they're just not all 8800GT 256's yet. I'm currently running 2 8800GTS 320, 1 7800GTXKO and 1 6600GT.

It is a good deal, and surprisingly enough I am surprised Futureshop has the best price around.

Usually Tiger Direct is cheaper, however from this link you can see that isn't the case.

Brad, if you had a choice and let's say the funds were not an issue :) :) and SLI was usable in FSX, and using "TripleHead2Go." What system would you build (recommend)?

I'd have to think about that for a bit. With money being no limit, that opens so many options. I'd still not want to go crazy on spending, but I'd have several more options. Really, I'm quite happy with the 4 16x PCIe slots in this spider board. If I did have more money I would have went Intel Core 2 Quad over AMD Phenom though.

If SLI was in the equation I'd go with an Intel Core 2 Quad, the new nForce 780i SLI chipset motherboard and 3 8800 Ultras. That is one big chunk of change though. Then throw in a Matrox TH2G and 3 1280x1024 projectors. That would be my "dream" setup for current technology with surround screen and SLI. The problem with technology is every 6 months something new comes out.
