Hello.
As you have seen. I wast asking about where to get 7 segment displays in white, but this is another discussion.

What I am confused now, is the size of 7 segments that are used in A320 FCU.

Is it 0.30", 0.36", 0.39"?
0.40" are to high. Can any one tell me the hight?

Thanks,
Martin

I think you're looking for actual size of the real one. They don't use LEDs its an LCD. Look at Engravity's unit:

If you build your own, you do end up giving up some of the realism of the unit. As you already know, it's give and take when it comes to building a sim :)

just wanted to ad to this, shortly after writing this Engravity announced their availability to ship EFIS/FCU and included pictures of their product. Perhaps you can determine size from those pictures.... maybe :)

Okey MattO, but 4 digits on EFIS?
Looks like Engravity has 7 segment LEDs there.

What is the size of them then?

You're right about the EFIS. I'm sure I bought my 7Seg's from www.opencockpits.com (http://www.opencockpits.com) but I can't seem to find them there now. I will try to find the information, in my stack of stash..... They are white 7Seg's and small enough for the FCU and EFIS. I'll let you know as soon as I find it, unless someone else can come up with it :)

OpenCockpits currently has the following:

They are yellow, not white, however...

I'm not sure about the A320 but the Boeing MCP uses Hewlett Packard HDP-7303 (now 7503) Micro Bright seven segment displays from Agilient (formerly HP).

They are somewhat expensive given the size. They are .5" high and .3" wide mechanically with a .03" display height.

I think the reason for the expense is that they are sunlight-viewable and clear from a 10ft distance.

If you can tolerate a "little" excursion from the height (.55" instead of the correct .50") then the KingBright displays are a good match and relatively cheap.

The optimum hight as I know is 0.36" but very important is width of digit as well. Do not use single digit displays, as the width is working to wide. I was looking very long for it as I needed for my project. Finally this is the place: http://www.lc-led.com/Catalog/department/36/category/52/13
You can get yellow and white as well 2, 3 and 4 digits for EFIS.
Have a look on my website to find some more informations regarding A320-project http://www.a320-project.skalarki.co.uk/
