Hi! Sometime around late summer I sent a mail regarding some issues with the latest MCP build. (slow response on toga and, when handflying, not possible to have lnav guidance without vertical mode selected) I wonder if there's any planned release of an update or beta build of the MCP in the pipeline?

Hi

Work has been done on the issues you have outlined and they have been fixed. But the build has not been released yet for other technical reasons. I expect it will be released soon.

BTW Grammar Q: Is it "talked with" or "talked to"?

I believe proper English would be "talked with", but I'm just a History major.

But that email does look promising. Hopefully we will start seeing fixes to all these bugs in both the MCP and CDU coming soon.

It can be either realy "Talked to" infers you are informing someone of something and it doesn't require a response as in only "you" talked to.

"Talked with" infers the other person(s) have an active part in the discussion too hence "with" together.

This is my interpretation anyway.

I won't be using Project Magenta so i don't realy have any comments on that front.

My preferred option would be that of

"talking ABOUT" ...

the brand new, long-awaited, PM releases !!!

....or a spelling Forum to go with the "Gramar" Forum :-)

Grammar and spelling should not be an issue here, I'm sure that somebody was just kidding around.
A question if you please; I just had to reinstall FS 9.1 after a corrupted file, can I just replace saved FSUIPC and WideFS from a previous copy into their proper locations?

Many thanks,

Bill T.

Yes, and your FSUIPC INI and KEY files.

You only need to re-register if you re-installed Windows for some reason.

Thanks Pete, everything seems to be working as it should as I slowly begin to rebuild my set-up. I did learn something from this event; just copying the folders does not appear to be the proper way to backup one's system. I have now purchased an additional HD (Acronis came with this Seagate drive) and Norton Ghost (which was ordered before I found out that Acronis is better that Ghost) to be able to properly backup my FS system.
Perhaps somebody with better knowledge may want to jump in here (or somewhere else) to enlighten us as to the best method.

Many thanks,

Bill T.
