Fuel Calculator

Could someone recommend a good freeware fuel calculator, or another solid method for calculating fuel loads. I have begun to fly using FS Passengers, while in VATSIM. To economize my flights, stay within protocol (i.e. 1 hour reserve) and most importantly get to my original destinantion. (ask me about my 18 mile glide to a GOOD landing after running out of fuel with passengers) I need a good way to calculate fuel needed. What I am doing now does not seem to work. I file my flight plan using FS Navigator, then export my Flight Plan to my FreeFD ND, and to FS9, at this point I can use FS9's NAV LOG to show ETA, estimated fuel burn and whatnot, however, after loading FS PAssengers, and loading cargo and passengers, my weihg then increases.I can only guess what my required fuel should be, or adversely if on a long trip, what I should pare my cargo down to after loading full of fuel. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I found an other useful Tool (Freeware), called TOPCAT - Take-off and Landing Performance Calculation Tool.

At the moment, there are these Aircrafts supported (others will follow soon):
- Boeing 747-400 / Freighter
- Boeing 767-300 / Freighter

and there are many other features:

• Worldwide database with close to 10.000 airports and 28.000 runways
• Including an import function for PMDG 747-400 and PMDG 747-400F weight data
• Coming with a Load Manager, Take-Off and Landing Planner (Taking into account various parameters like runway length, runway slope, wind, temperature, runway condition, airport pressure and elevation, etc...) and with an option to directly download weather data from online sources (NOAA, IVAO or VATSIM)
• Calculates all relevant speeds (V1, VR, V2) for Take-Off and Landing and de-rated thrust including Field Limit Weight, Climb Limit Weight, Obstacle Limit Weight, Brake Energy Limit Weight and Tire Speed Limit Weight
• Take-off and Landing data for abnormal configurations (e.g. Flapless Landing, Inoperative Reversers, etc...)
• A wide variety of units: kilograms (kg), pounds (lb), meter (m), feet (ft), hPa (hecto pascal), inHg (Inches of mercury) for your personal needs
• ACARS-Function

A friend of mine created this software, It is a very useful tool. Boeing and Airbus Support.

Well, that´s true - it´s sad to see no Airbuses... I´m also waiting for A320, A330!

So, perhaps you are as glad as me, to hear, that the Topcat-Developer promised me, that the next aircraft will be an Airbus. :D :D

The other link - tomaflex - looks really very similar!! I´ll try it!

It's really too bad that POH's are not readily available for newer commercial aircraft without having to go through a 398 check to get one.

With the POH, you can calculate practically to the last 50 pounds of fuel needed for a leg.
