Looking great..... Quick question, are you attaching your toggle switches to a backing plate and only having the shaft protruding through, or are they directly to the front panel?

    Hi Paul,
I have been drilling the 1/4" PVC backplate 27/64" and the 7/16" toggle switches screw into this quite tightly without the locknuts being required. The backlight panels lift off when the black self tappers are removed, I thought this would be better if a sticker ends up getting damaged, plus it's closer to how the real thing is assembled. The PVC, ("Trovidur"), is very strong and easy to machine with the Dremel, router and jigsaw. I have made my MIP and centre console from it. It cost me AUD$260 for a 2400x1200 sheet 2 years ago but very much worth it for a paint free durable surface. With carefully planned marking out I think you could build it all from one sheet. (My console has an MDF carcass).
