GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) has signed a letter of intent to order 40 Airbus A320 Family aircraft. The order covers A319s, typically seating 124 passengers, as well as the larger A320s with 150 passengers in a standard layout, with the flexibility to convert some to A321 models.

GECAS has already placed all Airbus aircraft in its backlog so far with operators and is now seeking to acquire additional capacity in order to meet increasing demand from airlines for Airbus aircraft in this size category. The Airbus A320 Family, with its aircraft seating between 100 and 220 passengers, is perfectly placed to provide additional capacity for leasing companies and airlines around the world.

GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS) is the commercial aircraft financing and leasing business of General Electric Co.
