    new to site

Hello folks outthere, im new to this site and i have been looking for a different site other than AVSIM, love that site also.

i have been simming for about 12 years and of late i decided to go for it and build me a sim from scratch.

    it will be a multipurpose cockpit, for a 172, and a 737.

right now im running a 8 monitor set up, and i decided to go out and get some go flight modules to add to my sim, and now that i have them a mip auto pilot and nav radio ( great products). im now revamping my sim and really going for it.

im finding this site very imformitive on building cockpits and im excited to get started. at this moment im building my 737 MIP panel, im building from scratch.

i also will be building my own overhead panel with all the fixins, ( that is if i can save enough up to buy me a fully working overhead from fly engravity or hspanial) that would be even better.

sometime down the line i will be needing a fully working FMC, i also want to build that , but if i can buy one fully working at a good price that will do also.

if i have to build i will, im just excited to finally decide to go for it, i cant believe all of the talented folks outthere doing this kind of hobby.

Im from Indianapolis and im looking forward to talking with all you good folks out there and cant wait to catch up to some of you simmers that are fully up and running.
    just .

So folks if you will have me here i am.

    Thanks........................Robert

    Welcome to mycockpit.org Robert.

To quote your last phrase, "catch up to some of you simmers that are fully up and running." LOL Good luck, the number one realization in simming is "THE PIT IS NEVER DONE" lol.

I hope you find everithing informative. If you need help, post and I am sure someone has crossed that bridge before.

We would all like to see some pictures, so post in the gallery till your heart is content.

    Best regards, and Welcome again.

    You are very welcome!
It's always great to have people on the same track to talk to. Makes our hobby (?) more enjoyable.

Anyway, please tell me (us) more about your setup, what software and hardware do you use?

    See you around.

    Robert:

Glad you found us here. We have had the site going for just over a year now and my has it grown. It's very international and the talent of some of the builders from around the world is breathtaking. Check out the Featured Builders section and you will see what I mean.

Glad to see another Hoosier builder out there. You try contacting 737NUT who is also from Indianapolis. I am from a small town west called Veedersburg but now live in Warrensburg Missouri after my USAF career.

Welcome and I home Mycockpit.org will be able to help you make your dreams come true in cockpit building

Either a 172 or a 737 ?! That is a HUGE spread in functionality! I know exactly what you mean though, Mine was designed to be anything from an ultralight to a Mooney or Cessna Caravan. It looks mostly like a Cessna, but I have other features built in to it as well.

In the meantime, I wish you WELCOME to the madness and as has been said before, The sim is NEVER done!

    cnc machine

thanks for the welcome, and yes i will be sending some pics up soon, but i tell ya after thinkin hard and strong im thinkin im going to need cnc machine to do what i want, and i think it will be a good investment, but now i have to build one and im doing some rersearch on that now , what do you good folks think.

im looking at my MIP that i cut out and im thinkin would it be better to go ahead and get the cnc to do all the fine cutting for me.

it seems that most of you long time builders use a cnc machine.

im looking to build a cheap cnc from plans and get that out of the way so i can get moving on my cockpit.

boy i tell ya some of you guys cockpits look so real im wondering what im getting myself into and to do it right i must get thr right tools to work with.

so i need a cheap cncor plans to build one.

    any ideas .....................Thanks...........Robert

Well... Building a CNC is another hobby all together! I would recommend looking for a small commercial unit. I get a little worried about the "you can build it" plans off the Internet! But keep us posted. Will be watching this post!

A CNC machine?! Hmmmm.... I dont have that kind of money so I just do all my cutting by hand.
