Thumbs down What values are addressable?

I am new to Phidgets and FS2Phidget and am exploring possibly using them for my simpit construction.

I was wondering which variables available in MSFS 2004 (fs9) are addressable / assignable with this software? Since it uses FSUIPC as the interface....... is every value that FSUIPC has documented in it's SDK "mapped" in the existing assignments portion of the FS2Phidget software?

Can I safely install the FS2Phidget software BEFORE purchasing any Phidgets to see what it is all about and the assignment options ..... without percipitating some sort of nasty crash to desktop? (Win XP home)

Appreciate any help. At the moment..... it looks like a very promising product for this stuff.

    best,

    .................john

    John,

FSUIPC variables are provided in a text file which can modify or add to.
A standard list is provided but you may change or add to these.

You can install and play with software.
Without hardware you can still use dummy tab to interact with FS.

    Regards,
    Alan.

    Hi Alan,

If I'm not too pushy... can I get a beta too?
Asking, because I have occasional slight problems and I am truly eager to know if the new version solves those.

    regards

    Alan,

I installed the software (the one off the website... haven't gotten the "beta" yet)but ran into a problem.

It asays it installed fine, but when I start it I get an error message popup that says "Runtime Error. ActiveX component cant creatre object". When I clear that error message box what is apparently the main program screen comes up.... but it is totally non-functional.

I really can't learn anything from that at all.

So... is this just because no Phidget modules are connected to my computer... or is it something else?

Appreciate any help you can give me.

    best,

    ...........john

OK.... duh...... figured it out on my own. Forgot to install the Phidgets.msi ALONG WITH the FS2Phidget program. Now I can see the possible assignments available. Which generates a question.

Some of the assignable values are all in caps like XXXXXXXX_XXXX_XXXXXX and some are mainly in lower case. What is the difference between those?

    Thanks.

Well... just ordered the LED64 unit and a power supply from the site tonight. I'm excited to start getting annunciator lights working in my flightdeck with FS2Phidget.

Can I substitute either a +12VDC regulated ham radio power supply for the supply you suggest.... or a +5VCD regulated supply from a computer? Unless I am mistaken this power is just the part that drives the connected LEDS...... or am I mistaken?

    best,

Well...... the LED64 arrived this morning! No time right away to play with it... but soon.

Still want to know about using the other 12V or the 5V supplies I have for it.

    Anyone?

    best,

    ......................john
