    Windows 10 issue: sharing fsplanes

I have shared the flightplan folder under Windows 10 as FSPLANS. Windows shows the share but PM (Boeing) cannot find or access the folder. What am I doing wrong?

Have you tried to access the folder from the computer that you are running the CDU on ? It is sometimes problem to get to date in "MyDocuments" from outside.

Re: Windows 10 issue: sharing fsplanes

CDU is running on the Flightplan PC. From Windows I can access the folder and its contents and I can also change it (move, delete. To test it, I shared a folder on drive G:\ as fplane, that doesn't work either.I wrote the share name in capital letters, but it is read in lower case. Can that be the problem? I remember having trouble with it before.

Re: Windows 10 issue: sharing fsplanes

Peter, the problem lies in "Documents" being a folder that is difficult to share. I do not remember at the moment what exactly it was that I did, but in the end I managed to access it from (M)CDU. But on my system this folder is shared with "Everyone" with "Full Access". Maybe try this and see if it works - you could then work your way back and try to take away some privileges. For me it does not matter so much, as the P3D server only rarely sees the outside world. I am sure you have already turned on network discovery and such things ? And I do not think that writing in capitals or not is making any difference, my share is "FSPlans".

There is one more thing that I forgot yesterday: Can you try to switch off the firewall on the flying computer and see if this solves the problem ?

Re: Windows 10 issue: sharing fsplanes

Thank you for your efforts. The CDU runs on the same PC as the FS and the flightplan folder is on the same PC.I have - as written at the beginning - also shared a folder on my 2nd hard disk and it is not recognized. Is there an alternative to get the flightplan from the FS into the CDU without typing? Is there a converter that can write SBP files, so that I can load the plan as CoRoute?

Re: Windows 10 issue: sharing fsplanes

Seems I have misunderstood. Sorry for that. I have no idea why the path should not be found on the same PC. I create my flightplans with PFPX, copy the route (text) into Aivlasoft EFB and then save to the flightplans directory. (M)CDU always reads the last flightplan in there.
