    Priority List

    Hi Nico,

Is it possible to refine the priority list to be sensitive to registrations, or is there another way to overcome this scenario?

The issue is, I have my FSPX aircraft in a different folder to my TFS aircraft.
Some airlines have different schemes on aircraft and all the repaints are not always available for FSP so I am required to use the TFS
    aircraft.
However if VMR finds an aircraft with the same Aircraft type and ICAO code it excludes some depending on the priority list

I trust there may be a way around this and it can be resolved.

    Regards
    Brian

    Hi Brian,
I do not understand your question. Can you give a simple example of a situation that is not treated by VMRgenerator as you would have wanted.
    Cheers
    Nico

    Re: Priority List

    Hi Nico,

In Simobjects I have folders for FSPX, FAIB and one called AI Airplanes(Including TFS models).
The priority order in VMR is AI Airplanes, FSPX and then FAIB.
I have repaints for the South African Airways A340-300 for both FSPX and TFS.
The reason is the ones I have in TFS are not available as repaints for FSPX.
When I run VMR generator it only includes the A343 SAA from TFS, because these are in a folder which is a higher priority in the VMR generator. VMR creates a text file "Liveries_ignored_by_priority.txt" which has the FSPX A343 of SAA in it.
If I change the order (put FSPX before AI Airplanes) in VMR, it includes the FSPX ones and excludes the TFS ones from the AI_liveries file. As shown below.

This is an extract from the "AI_liveries" file.
    SAA;A333;1;FSPX Airbus A330-343(RR) South African Airways - ZS-SXJ;ZS-SXI,ZS-SXJ,ZS-SXK
    SAA;A343;1;FSPX Airbus A340-313(CFM) - South African Airways;ZS-SXA,ZS-SXB,ZS-SXC,ZS-SXF,ZS-SXG,ZS-SXH
    SAA;A343;1;FSPX Airbus A340-313(CFM) - South African Airways - ZS-SXE;ZS-SXE
    SAA;A346;1;FSPX Airbus A340-642(RR) - South African Airways - ZS-SNB;ZS-SNB

This one was in the "Liveries_ignored_by_priority.txt" file and as you can see above not in the AI_liveries file.
    SAA;A343;1;TFS Airbus A340-313(CFM) - South African Airways - ZS-SXD;ZS-SXD.

I thrust this better explains the situation.

    Re: Priority List

    Hi Brian,
Putting all liveries in one folder - as Arjen does - does not solve your problem?

Otherwise I have to update VMRgenerator such that it only suppresses the same aircraft from a lower folder if it has no registration or a registration that is already present in a higher folder.

    Cheers

    Re: Priority List

    Hi Nico,

Originally I had all in one folder, but with the release of the FAIB B767 which showed the creation of a separate folder for different creator, I decided to follow this practise and refine the AI Airplanes folder as it has become extremely big with in excess of 280 subfolders.

This would be a great solution, if possible:
".... suppresses the same aircraft from a lower folder if it has no registration or a registration that is already present in a higher folder."

But, if it is a huge amount of work, it's not a problem, I will work around the issue.

    Thanks for your trouble
    Brian

PS. I have another suggestion I would like to share with you regarding GA aircraft and parking codes, but I'll do that later.

The requested behaviour is now present in version 9.6.
Thank you for this Idea, it makes VMRgenerator a lot more powerful.

    Cheers
