Very nice Florian, let me know how you go with the motorization. Brian has also offered his SIOC script so it looks like there are several ways to go by this --

    1. Opencockpits + SIOC
    2. Phidgets
    3. Ardruino + LUA (your solution).

I have a dc motor with encoder on the way to test so we will see how that works. I may just go with OC because it looks like there are already scripts our fellow cockpit members use.

Re: Real Throttle and Pedestal conversion project

I think a dc Motor is not so accuracy like a stepper, but with a gear it maybe works also good like an Stepper. I have a DC Motorcard from OC here and my first plan was also to make it with SIOC and a DC Motor.
The Arduino +LUA works with a Phidgets Nema17, or did you mean only with a Phidgetscard? Which Software did you use to communicate with Jeehell?

The main problem for me is to Trimm it manual! I think when the stepper works i can´t grab in to the Handwheel and trimm manual, like in real when you are on Ground and making the preflight procedures. Maybe someone has an idea how can i fix it? Or did you mean there is no problem with manual trimming?

Hi Florian, check out this thread -- http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/show...t=30694&page=2

Robert has written a program to interface with a DC motor. You can write to him for a copy.

It was programmed for the FDS throttle but should work with any DC motor. Feedback is provided to a potentiometer, I haven't figured out that part yet.

Yes, it allows for manual trimming on the ground.

Changing the bulbs for the trim on the throttle...its was actually very enjoyable seeing it all light up again

Before the new bulbs are soldered on -- you can see there are several blown.
All ready and set to go!

Backup A320 MIC (for the 3rd seat) -- guess I will use this for 'decor'.

Re: Real Throttle and Pedestal conversion project

And I was wondering who was the lucky ebay buyer of this quadrant

In the downloads section of mycockpit.org there are a series of accurate (official?) drawings for the throttle assembly. If I remember correctly the detents are produced by a spring/ball mechanism in the counter arm assembly that's about a meter below the throttle...

Yes, I was also wondering who was the winning bidder for this ebay TQ

Looks like you have the new style trim wheels which is great.

Regarding the detents, Airbus has a throttle control unit interface which is quite a complex affair --
