Good place for a new chalenge

Hi everybody,
I'm a retired professional accountant who has been playing around electronics forever and just loves learning something new. I bought the Flight Simulator x Gold for my bother and am getting it going with just an old CH yoke and pedals. Now I want to get with the program and build him a nice but not too expensive cockpit using arduino 2560. I'm really glad to have found this site and would like to thank all those who have bothered to post so much information.
