    Jims Radio project

Hi there, I hope someone can offer some help on this.

I have built Jims radio project (Uno) and have completed the construction. I have opened the supplied file for the Uno and compiled it. I get an error that says 'Multi_Radiohead_Uno.ino:15:24: fatal error: Quadrature.h: No such file or directory compilation terminated.Error compiling.

Further on in the website it mentions Quadrature and it again mentions that it is for use with rotary encoders. I am using the Bodner encoder.

What does the error mean and how do I fix it? The file mentions putting the Quadrature folder into the libraries folder - where is this?

Any help would be greatfully recieved.

    hi

I am new to this stuff as well, and have had this problem too.

Ok, open the zip file and look for the quadrature.h file, unzip it to desktop, then move it to the Arduino library, to check you did it right open Arduino and look in the library I assume you are using Windows

    Re: Jims Radio project

Hi and thanks for the reply.

I now have the problem that the PC is asking for the driver for the Uno. I did not have this prooblem wit the last project when I used a Mega! I am looking in th Arduino folder and sub folder drivers but not sure which one to use.

In reply to my first question I have now moved the Quadratures folder to the Arduino Library folder, how does it pick up what it needs?

Sorry to be a pain, but the last project did not have this issue, it just loaded up straigt away. Do I just down load Jims file into the Uno or do I need to do something else first (once I have the driver sorted of course).

    Re: Jims Radio project

    Hi again,

Sorted the driver problem (I think).

Now the skech compiles OK but when I try and download I get the message that com 3 is not available. I have an existing Mega configured as com 3. How do I change the new Uno to another com port? I have it configured in windos as com4.

Getting annoying now as my first Mega project was such a breeze by comparison!

    Hi Pete,

again the comm port I also had this problem, the way I solved it. When you get a problem like this try using Google.

I found out that the Windows Device Manager recognises which port, just change it there.

    Re: Jims Radio project

Just in case. You know how to change com ports in the Devicemanager:

    And the com port:

    And change the card:

Finally. If you can get it to work using the Mega card. You should get it to work on the Uno card. If not, try unninstall and reinnstall the arduino software. If it still not work, maby you got a bad Unocard.

    Hi BuzziBi,

Thanks for your help, I have done this but no joy.

To clarify, I have not made this project with a MEGA card, but I did use one for my last project (gear panel) and it worked straight away. After much faffing about I now have maually selected an UNO driver, but the PC says it is still not happy.

Now I cant get to the screen to change the com port! Arduino is looking to Com 3 (my last project) and me new card is set to Comm4. The set comm port is greyed out.

Should I have a green LED on an UNO? I just have 2 reds.

Also I am using Arduino V1.6

    Re: Jims Radio project

You should have a green power on light.
The pin 13 led should flash while powering up, and then stay on.
The serial leds (RX / TX) shall not light up, unless the code is set to send/receive on serial.

Read this page about using Atmels FLIP to try to fix your Uno card.
    https://www.virtuabotix.com/how-to-c...eath-syndrome/
The software (FLIP) is not self-explanatory, but I think you will figure it out.
I have used Atmels software FLIP to program the Uno card as a keyboard.
