    Motorized throttle Saitek quadrant Mod

    Hi guys
it's been a while since i've posted here, but i'm always watching the forum, got say that this is a wonderfull comunity that helped me a lot in achiving my dream of building a home cockpit. i've decided to post here this video cause i have not seen anyone do a mod in a saitek quadrant to motorize a lever. i've done it so if someone could pick up my idea and probably improve it for themselfs, i would love to know if i helped someone as you have me.

hi there grosati. it is a simple solution made with an arduino uno and a cheap motor shield to control 2 servo motors (one for flaps gauge and the other to make the saitek lever move and emulate motorized throttle. the servo motors i used was micro servo for flaps and Tower pro MG 996r for throttle. the software is link2fsmulti obviously.

Ciao from Rome, I've just purchased the usb motor and wait for delivery, and have another question for you:
have you any kind of problem when the AT is not engaged and you move the throttle lever? If yes, how did you solve it?
    Many thanks again and regards

Re: Motorized throttle Saitek quadrant Mod

    hi there grosati
yes i did have a problem when AT was not engaged as the servo motor for the throttle lever would still be activated and for that reason i was unable to move the lever in a normal way. so i had to code the arduino to only activate the servo motor when the AT is on. i'm at work now but if you need my example just ask, i'll get back to you as soon as possible.

By the way i recomend you buy a 9 volt psu to feed the arduino because the mg996r servo will need it to function properly.

This may be a problem, I use the opencockpits servo card and sioc software, it only accept 5 volt supply
