    PSXseecon crashes

    Hello,

I would like to report a problem I have from a long time, but I was never able to see what produced this PSXseecon crash. I found today a way of making PSXseecon crash on my system.

If I go to CDU LEGS page, then RTE DATA, load the winds data, PSXseecon crashes everytime. I don't know if this is the only reason because sometimes PSXseecon crashes without accessing to ACARS upload. Please find attached the crash reports from windows. It is in french but the template is the same for every windows reports. I use Windows Visa 32 bits.

File crashes : I don't know what exactly produced this crash
File crash2 : This crash was produced by uploading ACARS wind data

    Hi J-P,
Please upgrade to 1.3.3 first and try again.

Strange, I cannot reproduce this crash, here loading winds data goes well.
Please send me you PSXseecon.log file. The Windows crash reports tell me nothing, much too low level.

What makes loading of WIND data different from other CDU functions? PSXseecon only handles the key presses of the keyboard...

    Regards,
    Nico

    Re: PSXseecon crashes

I'll update to 1.3.3 but I am sure it is not the problem. I had crashes from very old versions.

I have to agree, it is very strange. The winds "tip" is the only way I found to make PSXseecon crash at every try. But the biggest problem is that the app. crashes sometimes during critical phases of flight.

One more observation : when PSXseecon crashes, my PSX server is frozen. When I close PSXseecon, PSX server comes back to life.

Here are 3 PSXseecon log files taken before, during and after the crash. Looks like the same but I give you all.

Edit : as you know I do not use PSXseecon for CDU keys but an "home made" C++ application. I made the test with or without my add-on but PSXseecon crashes also. I don't think it comes specially from the CDU. Maybe a specific network event making PSX server freeze, and thus PSXseecon crash. Or the reverse...

Here a version (1.4.1) with trace (.exe only, just overwrite). Please run a small test that crashes and send me the log file.

    Cheers,
    Nico

It looks like it has to do with the processing of Qs375,
Please try again with this trace 2 version

Aha, that's because I suppressed all Qs375 messages. They are not relevant for your PSXseecon vars.
However, I did it rather brute force, I have to fine tune it a little.
    To be continued ...
