    Projector screen build

Anybody thinking about a projector set up this might help...had a curved frame built by a local metal shop for about $1,000 and just hung my screen from Carl's Place which cost around $500 6ftX25ft no creases or wrinkles...very easy to do.

    Re: Projector screen build

That is a LOVELY screen. I had always planned to build my own screen, I assumed the cost to have it made would be prohibitive. I may look into having it machined somewhere if my own efforts are not satisfactory (I've more or less decided against the Mylar/collimated system, because I want more viewable area than such a system can effectively provide). $1,500 for the complete rig is not so bad.

Either way, I think I know where I'm getting my material now. Thanks for sharing!

    Re: Projector screen build

    Hello,

I am designing a frame for my simulator screen... I have a couple of questions that you might help me.

    1. what kind of material did you use for the frame?
    2. I have 3 x Benq W1080 ST and Immersive Display Pro...
    3. Would it be possible to cover 250 degrees FOV?

    Regards,
    Hooman

    Re: Projector screen build

    Hi ,
I have used retangular aluminium profile
40x40mm same as Simkits and have them bend at a fraction of the cost compared to simkits
i am not sure if 250 degrees is possible you have to ask flyelise ,
I have 180 degrees , I know there is a YouTube movie but there have 225 degrees
    regards Henk

    Re: Projector screen build

Local metal shop did the fabrication for me...very quick and easy. It's 2" stainless steel tubing, I think. I
also am using 3X Benq W1080 ST's...I have appox. 180 degree FOV. I don't think 250 FOV is possible, maybe 210-220 degrees.
