    Approach Mode

Can someone kindly explain to me what the difference is between 1) the Approach mode activated in the MCDU (Approach page in PERF) and 2) the "APPR" button on the FCU.

    Thanks

    Re: Approach Mode

approach phase on the mcdu is used to activate the approach performance when you are inbound for landing... That way you can decelarate to green dot speed and after selecting flaps to lower managed speed for approach in managed or automatic mode.

Appr pushbutton on the FCU is used to activate the approach modes for the aircraft... intercept ils, localizer first then glide and also the several nav approach modes for vor, ndb and rnp approaches.

2 totally different things my friend.
