Newbe with Arduino Mega to be used for my fsx cockpit building - 2 questions please

HI, I have just bought an Arduino mega 2560 card and I'm planning to use it with led annunciators and momentary switches.
question 1: what kind of resistors would I need for one led (would 150 ohms be ok?) an if I connect 2 in series ? for the moment I lan to use 5 volts green and red leds.

question : If I want to connect momentary switches to the board would I need relays and resistors to ? and if so what types ?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Mario both those questions are real basic stuff for some-one learning about Arduino's so the best way to learn that sort of stuff is in the Arduino site,,,
    http://arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/HomePage
and a heap of pages from there on their site.

Also have a dig thru the samples included with their program.

They run a great system for learners which would always be more informative than asking such stuff in here.

Once you get to know how to work with the Arduino, then pop back here and we can help you using it to interface with M$ flightsim.

Here are some LED resistor calculators to get you started. You need to know the forward voltage of the LED and its milliAmp rating. The Arduino output supply voltage is 5volts.

When forward volts and milliamps are unknown, 220 to 330 ohm resistor is a safe bet. (Best guess Mr. Spock)

HI Jim, thanks or your help. I'll do just that and come back here later when I know more about the board.
