    PMDG737 NGX - AT/AP/FMC warning lights

Hello - has anyone tried and succeeded with the following:

Auto throttle (AT) Autopilot (AP) Flight management computer (FMC) warning lights on the NGX

Im trying to build a panel that will include the above warnings - I have looked through Jims program and within the annunicator section I cannot find anything that could trigger the above warnings. I must admit I am a long way out of my depth and was hoping some one could help me discover how to get the output to the card so I can then set up warning LEDs and ultimately reset buttons for all three of the above.

As an aside, discovering the Arduino and Jims program is just like being given my first metal mechano set when I was young...... my wife has said she hasnt seen me this enthusiastic in a long time!

    Many thanks

    Mark

    Re: PMDG737 NGX - AT/AP/FMC warning lights

Are you talking about warnings or about Indicators ????

If your talking about indicators then have a look at Mikes marvelous post here ,,,,

    www.mycockpit.org/forums/showthread.php?t=27872
    (Post # 14)

And also the 2 downloads in the post just under it. (Post # 15)
Mikes post (and the pictures) tells you how to go about getting it all out from the NGX and one of the ways of inputting.

He has also given code snippets for including in the Arduino's INO.
In fact some of his entry's are what you are wanting. !!!

    If your confused,,,
'Variables' and 'Offsets' are outputs from FSX (although a lot can also be inputs)
'Controls' (and 'Events') are inputs to FSX.
The 'Annunciator' page in my program has nothing to do with what you are talking about ,, that's purely a stand alone option for a simple default annunciator system.

    Good luck ,, Jim

Hi Jim. Many thanks for the reply but also, thank you for writing and updating your program, it is very much appreciated.

I have previously read mikes thread, but will go through it again just in case I missed something. First thoughts though are it doesn't address the three warnings / buttons. For me the most annoying us the AP disengage warning. When landing the ngx autoplilot is disengage just prior to touch down. With so much to do at this time, last thing one wants is using a mouse to find the button and then quieten the alarm.

I'm not building a replica 737 panel, more do a panel with useful warnings and buttons, mostly using your code already out there. If I do d a way of doing it, I will post back.

Yes OK Mark ,, it sounds like you are talking warnings rather than indications.

Those 2 links in that post 15 give a list of all the 'inputs' and all the 'outputs' so have a dig thru them and hopefully what you want is available. (You would be looking for an 'Offset')

If they are not there then there is a possibility that you could "roll your own" using other extractions.

    Happy hunting ,,, Jim

    Thanks Jim

Will have another look tinight. I have started to think that about using the key assignments within the Pmdg. If I am able to set a warning button to a keyboard key, this might be the way to go. But before doing so, I will Reread the info you have provided, I must have read through it without realising....Kate night reading for you.

Sorry Mark ,, for some reason it stuck in my head you were wanting indication for an LED or what ever.

Just as an input ,, if there is a keystroke available for what you want then yes the "keys" section is another option.

I don't have the NGX so I not really much help I'm afraid.

Thanks for the kudos too Mark ,, appreciated.

Not so Jim, you have been plenty of help. Ive got a spare hour so starting to read Mikes post carefully. I think I can crack this, but might need some guidance once I have the codes etc. Using link2FS opens up so many possibilities that every couple of minutes I comes up with yet another function \ light \ switch that I want to add. Where does this all end

    Re: PMDG737 NGX - AT/AP/FMC warning lights

Hi Jim - Great, yes the links on post 15 have the info I need, although I dont really know what to do with it:

EVT_DSP_CPT_AP_RESET_SWITCH 69971 CAPT Side AP RESET Pushbutton
EVT_DSP_CPT_AT_RESET_SWITCH 69972 CAPT Side AT RESET Pushbutton
EVT_DSP_CPT_FMC_RESET_SWITCH 69973 CAPT Side FMC RESET Pushbutton

Ignorance alert! Each of the numbers are events (inputs to FSX)? So each number can be used as a key press? If this is the case, one part of the problem is solved e.g. I can cancel out the warning with the push of a switch.

The next problem is displaying the alert on a panel (LED) - I found these in the FSUIPC table:

    6550 2 BYTE x 2 MAIN_annunAP[2] Boolean
    6552 2 BYTE x 2 MAIN_annunAT[2] Boolean
    6554 2 BYTE x 2 MAIN_annunFMC[2] Boolean

As these are Offsets, these are outputs from FSX?

Jim - can you point me to a tutorial \ example where I can use the offsets and events within your program and I will give it a go at programing \ making these work (apologies if this is all simple stuff, I still feel like I am in way over my head)

Mark, the battle is almost over ,, but first ,,,

Do you have a registered (paid) version of FSUIPC installed and working ???

Have you enabled "Data broadcast" as mentioned in Pete's ,,,
    fsuipc.simflight.com/beta/Offset_Mapping_PMDG737NGX.pdf

What version of the Link2fs-Multi are you running ????

    Re: PMDG737 NGX - AT/AP/FMC warning lights

Hi Jim - Im sat in front of the computer with FSX (PMDG737) running and link2FS running and I have made some(little, but aignificant for me) progress.

On the Experts FSUIPC(1) panel I have entered the 3 offsets, so 6550, 6552, 6554 and type=byte, raw result =0

When one of the alarms is active, the Raw result alternates from 0 to 1 and repeats for as long as the alarm sounds. THis is progress(Im happy)

Data broadcast is enabled and I am running FSX V6e for experts (ironic that last bit, for me that is)
