    OVERHEAD SWITCHES

    Hi Folks.

I might have asked this question before, but there are several switches in my crj700 overhead which don't appear in fs assignments and I would like to use REAL switches for these functions.
If I knew of keyboard strokes for these, I could easily use Hagstrom to interface them.
I have looked all over the net - but no luck - apart from the normal keyboard listing.
These are the switches in question-

    A/C Bus tie switch.
    DC Service.
    Battery Master.
    Gen 1.
    Gen2.
    APU Gen.
    ISOL (bleed air).
    APU start/stop.
    Pwr fuel.
    Engine1. start up.
    Engine 2. start up.
    Engines stop.
    Hydraulic switches 1,2,3 and 4.
    Engine ignition switch.

These don't appear in assignments but I know that serious cockpit builders are able to map these to switches - but how??
I have just bought FSUIPC, and I am wondering if there will be any help there?
Is there any software/hardware that will allow this type of interfacing?

So experts, any chance of lettting me in on the BIG secret - or will I have to put up with a sub standard cockpit??

    Here's hoping!

There should be an option in FSUIPC to create mouse macros for buttons and switches. Have a look at this video. Thats how I learned. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=__of5EEZzvc

    Re: OVERHEAD SWITCHES

    Hiya, and many thanks.

I will be looking at the fsuipc when I get the keys. I presume that "Mouse Macro's" will allow me to produce a key press that I can map to a switch? This seems too good to be true! I presume that you can only do this with functioning switches that are already on the fs aircraft?

    Thanks again.

Yes thats how its done. Trust me, I felt the same way after finding out that you can do this. Now I'm building my 747 simulator starting with the throttle quadrant and then after that, I'm going to build my own MCP. Just gotta figure out how to wire up 7 segment displays to a rotary encoder lol
