Re: 7 segment led displays and my Radio Box

It's been a while since I have plugged in my Radio Box, Thanksgiving week and all.
I have made a short video demonstrating the "Acceleration" of the Rotary Encoder. (No Geek Voice this time)
I made a few changes to the code and re-attached it to my earlier post above.
One of the changes is, the acceleration of the encoder will only happen when on the MCP. (HDG CRS ALT etc)
Basically, If Rotary == 3 then do the acceleration stuff.
Frequencies still dial one tick per click.
There was a small bug I found and fixed in the AP vertical speed array. (forgot to change a "1" to a "0")
I made the bug when I was remarking my code previously and decided to make the arrays more efficient.
When the VS display wasn't working correctly, I thought I was going nuts for a minute.

All is good now and here is the video.

Well..... come on EVVATC, show the kids what you've been working on.

EVVATC has a radio panel similar to mine but more compact, its more Military Fighter style than GA.
He's gone farther than me in the physical construction of buzzers, bells, and whistles.
Maybe we can get him to post some pics.

Re: 7 segment led displays and my Radio Box

Man, I finally did some flying with the Radio Box on the main rig, instead of just twisting the knobs off testing on the laptop. I found another bug of my own creation from when I did the remark modifications.
    The lessons:
    1) When making a 5 count, from 0 to 4, you want the condition to read < 5, not < 4.
    2) There is no substitute or better shake down testing, than getting it up in the air and using it operationally.

I'm also coming to the realization that the partial MCP ain't cuttin' the mustard.
It is functional and works, but I don't like sharing displays and having to switch back and forth from freqs.
Full on MCP likely in the New Year, barring life's derailments.

Whhhaatt! A separate MCP!?!? Just kidding.

Just to set things straight, Fess_ter and I are co-workers. My project would still be wishful thinking if it wasn't for Fess_ter getting the ball rolling with his radio stack.

I will post up some pics of my radio stack and landing gear panel soon.

Jim, first, thank you for sharing Link2FS with everyone. As far as the username, it's a combination of where I work and what I do. As promised, here are some pics...

    MattiV,

Pins 7 is the left push button under Com Frequencies.
It swaps the Com Active and Standby frequencies.

Pin 8 is the right push button under Nav Frequencies.
It swaps the Nav Active and Standby frequencies.

Pin 9 is the DME toggle switch.
