    Confused With Switches

    Hi all,

I am a long time watcher of this forum, but I finally bought myself an arduino and started fooling around with it. I was wondering if anyone could post a code for one switch operation and nothing else. I think this will help me understand what is going on. It can be anything such as a landing light switch or even the passenger sign. I attempted Jim's tutorials but still got confused with all the other inputs and outputs. Any help would be appreciated. Please excuse this newbie.

    Re: Confused With Switches

    Hey jeff,
there is a dedicated arduino forum here in mycockpit forum I guess that is the place to be. I use the arduino too and they helped me out very well. If you have not done it, do the tutorials from arduino, they walk you through the basics of inputs and outputs with simple led and switches. From there the step into arduino and flightsim is less complicated. Jims program simplifies a lot when it comes to interfacing the arduino into flightsim, but you do need the basic knowledge of Arduino.

    Greetings,
    Eric

    Re: Confused With Switches

    Hi Eric,

I have done some basic tutorials as well as Jim's tutorial with the gear indicator. I am currently studying to be an electrical engineer as well, so I should pick this up pretty easy. I was just trying to look at the simple switch code so I can break the code down in my head and understand it so that I can write my own code. If I am missing a tutorial please point me in the right direction.

    Thanks for the help!

    Re: Confused With Switches

    Hi jeff,
then it seems to me you will be on your way pretty quick. I have been away from building for a while, hoping to pick it up in the winter time. So my knowledge is not up to date anymore. I do suggest you ask in the Arduino forum, many people there are very willing to help. But in the mean time, If I can find anything simple and basic I will post it.

If there's any questions I struggled like you; I've made a simple code ( I think most of it is on the link ) that you can use.
