    Korry Switches

Why do Korry Switches have 2 light bulbs or LEDs per indicator? I know there is a variety with some that have 4 separate indicators in one switch, but those are exceptions. The vast majority seem to have illumination provided by 2 light sources. I haven't had a look at the wiring diagrams, but is it for redundancy or just more even light distribution?

Im sure it is for aircraft safety/redundancy.
