    HUD system

    Hello all,

I have a built a small jet simulator and I require the ability to send HUD imagery only to a separate monitor in X-Plane, Falcon 4 BMS without a duplicate HUD image on the forward view or main screen. I have scoured the internet (forums, blogs, etc.) but have not yet found a way to do this. Can anyone point me in the right direction? My HUD system is powered by an LCD projector and it is ready to go! Now I just need the HUD image/data on a separate monitor (on local PC or via network). If I could only complete this finishing touch!

Thanks and I look forward to your feedback.

    Sincerely,

This is very very good, well done. I'm sure i've seen a forum post in the last few months regarding HUDs so i would do a forum search as it may give you some ideas. Remember though if you're using a projector visual system you're going to have to ensure it aligns with your eyes the HUD and the projector visuals for everything to work.

Not saying it cant be done though. Keep up the excellent work and please let us all know how you get on.

    Re: HUD system

    Geremy,

Thank for your input and compliments. You're right - the system has to be aligned just right (calibrated essentially). So, I made all of these adjustable: the HUD glass (tilt angle), the external screen position (x & y), the external view image size, and finally the HUD image size is scalable (software & hardware). I think this will do it! I am continuing my search for HUD image solutions (no HUD in external view). If you happen on to any ideas/solutions please let me know.

    Thanks!
    Dan
