    LINK2FS_inOut updated. Now version 4j

I've just finished an update to "Link2fs_inOut" and uploaded it to my site.
    It's now version 4j
The actual page hasn't changed but the download will be the new one.
It basically looks the same at anyrate.
There's a few other things I want to do before updating my site.

You can get it here ,,,,
    http://www.jimspage.co.nz/link2fs_inout.htm

This release is really a bug fix but I added a serial monitor and also direct injection for the "gear up" and "gear down".
The "gear up" and "gear down" thing works with FSX and FS9 and the main reason to include it was to do away with the "toggle" command for the gear control which was always a pain to work around.
Sample INO's of it working are included.

The data extraction that indicates the gear position has also been been worked on to stop the flood of data when raising or lowering the gear.
This wont effect your existing INO's if all you were doing was sensing "up", "in transition" or "down".

If you are "updating" from a previous version ,,, read the "If you are updating" file.
Your existing INO files will work fine but your existing INI file may need a 2 second mod.

As I have put it straight into my website as a down load ,, if there are any problems, can you let me know on this thread ASAP.

    Thanks Guys ,,, Jim

Question Re: LINK2FS_inOut updated. Now version 4j

    Hey Jim.

Will download the latest verson. Great that you added the serial monitor, That feature I really liked.

Certainly off topic, but I can not imagine a better advisor, so I am trying!

A small question. Since I've been a bit hooked on this whole thing with Arduino and writing code, I have taken up the idea about a project that has been on the shelf for a few years now.
I want a program that can view all airports in Norway. (I envision a kind photo viewer.)
(Yes I know there are some programs available, but they are really, really, really bad!
The interface I envision, is a main window, where I choose which airport I want info about, "click" and the next window. Here I get a list
(I assume that these files must be in a "drop down" list.)
Now I select the file I want to see, "click" and it comes up in a window.
(example of files in one airport folder):

    Aerodrome Chart
Aerodrome Obstacle Chart - RWY 11
Aerodrome Obstacle Chart - RWY 29
Standard Arrival Chart - RWY 11
Standard Departure Chart - RWY 11
Standard Departure Chart - RWY 29
    VFR Routes Light Aircraft
    Visual Approach Chart
    ILS Y RWY 11
    VOR RWY 11

The files might look like this: Here Instrument Approach Chart - ICAO
    app.chart1.jpg
Or like this in two windows in the main form:
    app.chart.jpg app.chart.main.jpg

I thought running the application on a laptop next to Sim, so I have info about the airports available.
I have downloaded all of AIP Norway and they are in. Pdf format.
What I'm wondering is if I should convert them to eg. . jpeg and create a database.
Can you create a database of images?
Do you think I can I use Visual Studio Express 2012 to create such a program or do you have other suggestions?
Life was hard, but then came Windows 7.
    Now we can fly! --------
    --------

Re: LINK2FS_inOut updated. Now version 4j

Interesting mission ,, I've also thought of something like that but will probably never get around to it.

You can display PDF's in the program you make ,, have a look ,,,
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8djGt_VAI_k
Looks quite easy but I haven't tried it.
There again, JPG's are also easy to present within your program BUT ,, it will be a huge mission to convert all the PDF's to JPG's and find the right compression to suit.

As your only doing the one country, I would start the data base just as a CSV file (comma delimited) that way with the minimum of effort you can edit it with a spreadsheet program, (Excel and such)
An excellent place to to start with (although I haven't used it) would be Pete Dowson's "MakeRunways"
You can find it here ,,,
    http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html
As I said ,, I haven't used it but it appears to be able to get all the other info you might need for the whole world ,, then you trim it all down to what you want using excel.
The advantage here is it gets what FSX/FS9 has in it's scenery data files.

So now you've got the data, you've also got the PDF's or JPG's ,, it's just a matter of organising in your program as to what you want to see and when.

    Good luck ,,, Jim
