    Did you make sure you had the right polarity?. originally you had 7 segement leds lighting.
    Have you tried your old p/s again.
    What was Jaycars model numer?.

    I don't remember having 7 segment displays lighting...
    Yes, same result and the model no. is ac adaptor r2713 it's not on their website strangley

    Although I have got a model train Transformer it outputs 10v 3.5a, would this work?

    Henri,
    Don't use the Train transformer as the voltage is to High. They specify 5v.
    I looked at the video you sent me and it was other leds that were lit.
    I really cant offer much more. A 2 amp 5v p/s would have been better test. However O/C only specify a
    1 amp supply so they should know best. Not having one of those units makes it hard to help.
    Maybe your best option is to send back to o/c.
    Somebody may be able to offer other suggestions.
