    Re: building a 747 MCP

    Sam,

I don't know if you are still looking for help on this topic, but I may be able to help. I'm in the process of building a 767 mcp, which is nearly identical to the 747's, besides the eicas panel.

I'm using opencockpits cards for the interface:
    1x USB Expansion
    1x Mastercard
    1x Display II card

Together, these cover all the inputs and outputs I need, including the seven segment displays. I'm planning on making pcb's to keep the components in order and keep wiring to a minimum, but that's just my preference. As for the switches and encoders, I'm using:

    CTS288 encoders (4)
    Small Tactile switches (14)
    White, green, and yellow LED's

...all of which I purchased at mouser.com.

If you need any more help, I would recommend Erik Hoddo's 767-300 site. He's had some excellent results building 767 parts, including the mcp.

    Hope it helps!
    Steve
