Mycockpit.org Revolution Simproducts Motorized Platinium TQ

I purchased a motorized Platinium TQ for my home built 737-800ng cockpit. The TQ arrived well packed and undamaged. I had a few minor problems with the config for the TQ and also with using SIOC. I skyped Oral and after two conversations and an hour to 45 minutes later (using Teamview) my TQ was working perfectly. I was very pleased with the level of customer service and technical expertise that I received. Eren did a good job too in terms of keeping update on the status of my TQ as it was being built. The TQ is a nice quality addition to my simulator. I will definitely be looking to purchase other products from Revolution-Simproducts.

    Thanks Nat737ng,
Its great to see some balance to the comments of their products. All to often we only get to hear the negative side
    of life.
Hope you enjoy your TQ for many years.

What I don't understand is why so many people are having so much trouble to the point of having to Skype Oral to get the product to work. Seems like someone would post what steps were necessary to get it to work. Are there no instructions? Are they unclear? Why is it so difficult?

Can you tell us what Oral did to get it to work?

I have one ordered almost 6 months ago and I hope it will be coming soon.

Re: Revolution Simproducts Motorized Platinium TQ

I have no connection with Revolution sim products and do not own any of their products. No two sims are the same particularly in terms of software in use on the customers machines. All eventualities cannot be anticipated, for example, it may be necessary to amend the SIOC script to allow for other Opencockpits hardware that may be in use.

I once read the REV Sim Throttle Manual documentation and found it clear and informative. What is also clear from being a forum member for many years is that people do not properly read the documentation attached to either software/hardware - Nat737ng I am not including you in this

This forum regularly has admissions of

    I forgot to connect power
I put the chips in the wrong way round
I connected the power the wrong way round
    What is sioc.ini
    Where is the manual
Oh, did not see that in the manual
Multiple examples of not following the manual

By bringing a sophisticated piece of hardware/software to the hobbyist market Rev Sim leave themselves open to criticisms because it is impossible to make such a unit universally plug and play. Perhaps that could be made clearer, however, we are sometimes our own worst enemy

Re: Revolution Simproducts Motorized Platinium TQ

    Hello and good evening,
I also bought a TQ Gold Edition motorized V 2.1. for my cockpit. It was delivered at the end of November. When I unpacked it I was really impressed. It seemed to me like a real one in very good condition. To be honest I also had some problems mainly with SIOC because I also use some other OC Modules and for each a separate script instead of using one sioc file for more then one. So some strange behavior occured and I didn't manage reversers to work.
Several times I posted in Prosim forum to get a solution for my problems. Most of answers were: why don't you contact Oral Barkey? And then I did so and was very impressed about the hole support I got.
In summery nearly 2 hours of convesation by skype and teamview and problems were solved.

Most of time Oral spended to place arrangement in my mixed up files. Now I start 5 scripts with one siox.exe and I learnt some more how to set up multiple modules with one script.
Especially his patient with me (I don't hear so very good) is highly mentioning.
I was very pleased about his high level of support and technical expertise too.

    Regards

    Wolfgang

    Hi guys!

Just got my toy and have a little question. There's nothing in manual about power supply pinout - wich one should be center - positive or negative?

I don't know for sure about RSP but it's been years since any dc power supply plugs were anything but positive center pin.

Re: Revolution Simproducts Motorized Platinium TQ

    Hi,

I have conected 12V 4A DC (2.5A required, so it would be enogh for device). Backlit works as I switch it on manually. But the throttle does not move at all.

It's mentioned in manual, that some other 220V power supply required, but there's only one power inlet on the device available And motors does not work. Maybe some one can share own expirience on how to setup it?

Re: Revolution Simproducts Motorized Platinium TQ

The 220v power supply is only needed to plug in the 12volt adapter.
Have you followed the manual and installed sioc and the script etc?
