Question Need help finding different Switches, Buttons, and Pots.

I have a pretty good idea off what I need for my build, but I need to know the technical terms for these switches:
    -3-pos On/On/On toggle switch
-3-pos On/On/On toggle switch with one spring loaded position
-3-pos On/On/On toggle switch with two spring loaded positions
-3-pos On/On/On Rocker switch with two spring loaded positions
    -180º knob with 30 detents
-Double potentiometers with unlimited rotation (For Radios)
    -180º knob with 3 detents
    -90º knob with 2 detents
    -Any knob with 4 detents
    -Push Button with a spring

If any of these do not exist, or you need more detail, please let me know.
(Note that I only need the terms, not where to find them. Also, I would prefer if these were solder-less.)

    Thank You

Re: Need help finding different Switches, Buttons, and Pots.

    Cockpit TBA,

You can start at mouser.com or one of your favorite places to get electrical switches. You can search for toggle switches and then filter for three position and then look for your desired mechanical specification. When looking at the data for the switches it will tell you if its ON-ON-ON or (ON)-ON-ON or (ON)-OFF-(ON). Take note that () means it is momentary and spring loaded to return to a normal position. Same with rocker switches. (ON)-ON-(ON)

180 knob with 30 positions would be a rotary switch then filter for what you are looking for.

Dual Potentiometers is what you are looking for. My experience is most people are using rotary encoders to tune the radios.

You say knobs but do you really mean switches? Those would be rotary switches and again you will need to filter based on what you want.

Push button? That would be OFF-(ON). I am assuming you want it to be (ON) momentarily and not (OFF) momentarily. Panel mount or PCB and what type of electrical connection you want.

One thing to keep in mind that when buying most switches online at places like mouser.com they do not come with

knobs or caps. Some do most don't.

Take some time and search for one of the types of switches you are looking for and notice the filter selection. Once you find a switch you like the looks of then check out the data sheet for more info.

    Jake

Yes, I did mean rotary switches. Thanks for the help, and I will try to find what I am looking for.

+1 for mouser ... I ordered 12 45degree rotary switches for my MIP from them as I struggled to find them in the UK, the common ones seem to be 30degree. It left Texas on the afternoon of the 9th and only 2 days later actually a little less than 2 days, it's on my desk in London. Amazing service and cheaper than anywhere else.

Also, ordered a Pokeys card from Wendy in Belgium, day or two and its here ... great service again.

It's ironic, as I have ordered stuff locally in the UK a week ago and still waiting.....

@m0ng00se: If you want good, cheap components, use Electronic Goldmine. Buy in bulk and save. I can buy the 60 SPDT Toggle Switches I need for just $63.50. Others seem to have good experiences with them. To conclude this thread, I leave a hint about my cockpit. The aircraft is not an Airbus, Boeing, or General Aviation.

Oh, Sorry about that. But there are lots of surplus stores out there that sell cheaply. Unfortunately, not all of them give you well shipped products.
