    Link2FS run issue (MSCOMM32.OCX)

    Hi.
I am new to using Link2FS and I am having a problem before I have started.

    I have the following:
    Arduino Mega card
    Ardiuno Sketch v 1.0.2
    Link2FS Arduino keys Beta 3
    Windows 7 64 bit

I have successfully installed the card and the Ardiuno software. I have tested this by using the 'Blink' example, and that gets an LED blinking just fine.

However, when I start the Link2FS software I get the following error almost immediately:

Component MSCOMM32.OSX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

I have carried out a file search of my PC for this file and it seems not to exist.

    Can you help?

I thought I had included them in that package but obviously not.

Download another of my files ,,,
    http://www.jimspage.co.nz/link2fs_com_a.zip

Don't install it but extract out the 3 MSCOM files and put them into the same dir as the "keys" exe.
I think from memory they are quite happy to reside there.

If it still don't work, you may have to put them in the systemwow folder.

    Cheers ,,, Jim

Yes, I got your message and thanks John.
That was a bit of a "wake up call" for me just looking at the old "keys" stuff so I had a go today and made a new one with a more modern language and it's all in one exe file ,,, no other files. Not an install program but a totally "stand alone" exe and it will even run from a pendrive if need be. (That's how I'm testing it)

I've still got a wee way to go but keep an eye on my website

    Cheers ,,, Jim

Thumbs up Re: Link2FS run issue (MSCOMM32.OCX)

Thanks Jim for your speedy reply. I have been unable to respond earlier because of the server issues at this site.

I have moved on from the link2fs programme to your in_out version as I am keen to do more. That version installed just fine, although I did make sure your fix worked on the original install, which it did.

Can I just say thanks for the effort you have put into the Link2fa software, it is just brilliant, keep up the good work! I stumbled across your page by accident and from there to the Arduino Mega card, so I have you to thank for that as well. It is so good that I am thinking of buying a second one just for experimenting with.

    Thanks again,

    J.
