Project Mustang on a 3dof base begins

Well I am still alive, been a crazy summer to say the least! After some serious thought, prayer, and talking to my son and wife. I parted out my original working GAT1 motion sim down to the motion base and frame. I then ordered the shell plans from Ron Rollo, great guy to deal with! After a couple of full days of cutting and sanding with my 2 kids, this is what I have now as seen in the picture below. L45-17 is born. I will be adding a window post on each side and properly size/shape rear side window to match the Cessna Mustang Jet. I will be using Flight1 Mustang, Emutech G1000's, Ruscool panels, Pokeys55E, and FSX for now. Display will be 3 flat screen led tv's.
We are excited to be doing this project as a family and really look forward to seeing it come together. It will be a working motion based sim, and match the Cessna Jet closely in form, function, and feel.

    Stay tuned!

Re: Project Mustang on a 3dof base begins

    Rob,

I like to see others building a sim other than a large tubeliner. I like the large planes but I find more interest in the smaller types since that is what I am building. Keep us posted.

    Rob,

That looks great! How will you handle the out the window view? I'm building a GA sim using an actual Cessna 172 fuselage and for now it will be on a fixed base but at some future date I want to add motion. I am of course hoping to do that and still have good visuals given that I fly mostly low and slow GA.
