    Airbus A320 home cockpit help

Hi all!! I'm building with my boyfriend an A320 home cockpit... I would like to know if you know wich leght and high from the real cockpit.... also of the cockpit door and main door... (I didn't find it on internet), like in this link http://www.airforce-technology.com/p...ages/mrtt9.gif something like that... I don't know how to explain it xD maybe here is better.. http://www.dutchops.com/AC_Data/Airb...ayout_A342.jpg

going to the other side of my project... I would like to know how can I build an overhead panel like the A320... but I really don't want to buy parts... they are too much expensive for us!! so... we can only buy the "blue/grey" part.. not electrical.. only the "case",.... http://www.meriweather.com/flightdeck/320/over/over.jpg something like that..
and the last thing, wich cheap wood you recomend to build it =D hope to see answers, also you can follow our project on facebook... http://www.facebook.com/DvA320Homecockpit
    a lot of regards!!

    Re: A320 home cockpit help

This question has been asked a million times... sorry to sound blunt, but if you search, you will find the answer probably in the very first post...

As for materials... that's a very general question, will need to be more specific than simply asking which woods to use? There's a million different components, there's different expectations in terms of quality etc... so at the end of the day, you'd have to be a bit more specific in that regard.

If youre talking about the shell and the like, have a look around to see what other people are doing, but my guess is plywood would probably be a pretty good bet. If you're asking which wood to build the overhead panel from... usually acrylics are used for this purpose because they allow light to pass through for backlighting... an acrylic panel is cut out... painted and then the lettering, markings etc are etched using various methods. For a cheaper alternative... simply use clear acrylic, and stick on printed stickers of the panels with their respective markings.

    Re: A320 home cockpit help

    Hi,

I am also interested to build a A320 cockpit. I am wondering what software I will need to control the hardware?

Understanding Project Magenta (Paid and Expensive) and FMGS (free and awesome) both can provide the glass cockpit and hardware, any other similar apps out there? Also, which aircraft model shall be used? Wilco A320?

Coming from 737 using PMDG and ProSim737, not really sure things about a320!

    Thank you in advance
    cheers

    MR

    Re: A320 home cockpit help

Jeehell has free airbus software... go to main forum page and have a look at his forum section. It's free and to be honest... excellent... not as good as project magenta probably, but pretty damn good for something that is free. As for aircraft model... he provides an aircraft model in his package. The wilco feels pretty close to what the simulator felt like.
