Airbus Seats:

​Hi everybody,

Last year I was asking around for some informations on Airbus seats and thanks to a member was given some very helpful documentation. Its now one year later and I would like to show you you what I build:

The seats are fully electric up/down and for/aft (J movement) as it should be. The armrest are up/down plus the stick sides can be moved down in steps of 4 degrees.

These are expensive to build, but if anyone is seriously interested then I may do a small production run. Send me an PM and I will mail you the details.

Matt, that's really nice getting this comment from such a seasoned builder.

I was looking for a good replica seat, but could not find one in the market. The idea was not to replicate the seat 1 on 1, but take the parts that are important such as the seat and armrest movement and do them well. The lift column is a professional product from the UK and is certified up to 300Kg constant load. The seat pan mechanism is build to very high standards and is tested up to 130 Kg with electric end stops and steel gearing/rails and a 24V motor. The whole seat structure is build of CNC aluminium to withstand daily use with everything powder coated. The seat covers are removable and the foam structure is covered in its own fabric made by furniture people. Oh, and the rear cover is blown ABS.

Used Airbus (modern) seats are sold in between Euro 18 - 25'000.- and get snapped up as they are sold for re-certification. I am standing now at a production cost of around Euro 7-8'000.- without calculating my own time

A lot I know, but I wanted this to be perfect. In any way, my aim was to show what is possible. I did the fixed Instructor seat too, now next target is the retractable observer seat.
