    Cessna throttle & mixture controls

    Gwyn,

Can you share your thought, ideas on how you would build the throttle and mixture assembly for a cessna 172.

    Thanks.

    Hi Shim,
I'm helping Wes Hollett convert his real C152 fuselage so I will be onto this job soon, I think it will be a good idea to make it as a product stay tuned!

I think this can easily be done with a salvaged throttle lever from eBay or a salvage company and a slider pot.

I bought mine from aircraft spruce, if I remember right:

Re: Cessna throttle & mixture controls

I think that the best way to tackle this item would be to buy a salvaged set and then I can make molds of the handles etc. The mechanisms themselves will be easy enough I think. I'm also working on a fabricated set of yoke handles for Wes's C152, I'll post pics when progress is a little more advanced.

    Cheers Gwyn

Looking forward to that. Any idea on the ETA for the control wheel?

The throttle handles are not worth moulding when they cost £4 from aircraft spruce! Just my 2 cents, they are very readily available!

I bought two for my cessna and sprayed one red for the fuel mix knob! simple!

    Hi Efe,
2 to 3 weeks I'd say, I've already made 'custom' centre pads and I'm waiting for the "vintage" cycle grips to arrive from the US. When they arrive I will know what size tubing to buy to make the handles. These pads for my mate Wes will probably be the only pair like this as I can't really sell a product with another company's logo on them!

PS How is my MIP card going?

    Hi Alex,
Thanks for the link, I'll buy a couple for sizing. Something like that would take about 5 minutes to machine including the thread so like you say they are not worth molding, I could make ten an hour! The mixture is a little more complex with the spring loaded grip mechanism so I will try to source one of them also as a sample.

    Cheers Gwyn
