Re: How to connect a cockpitsonic usb flaps gauge

Whilst I started this thread I might as well ask a proper question.
I have connected the power supply and it all works hunky dory. In fact must easier to set up than I was imagining.
Do I need a power supply to run the gauge as it works fine just plugged into a USB port? Is the power supply purely for the backlight and to give it a bit of extra juice?
I want to cut down on "things" that are powered and red, black and yellow wires, as my sim is now beginning to look like one of those old fashioned telephone exchanges, except a lot less organised. I can live without the backlight if that is "all" the power supply is needed for.
