    Rear Projection or Front Projection?

The front view of my cessna is around a meter wide and I need to know what is the best projection method for a small cessna visual. The front view is a meter wide so the distance from the projector to the screen would only need to be a few feet away.

Rear projection means that you have no projector visiable but you lose space, and front projecting means that you need a projector hanging above your head. Now what would the effect of a projector be if the projector was behind me; would the projection clip the back of my head and project my shadow on the screen?

Or can the projector be high enough and still project the visual a meter wide in a square orientation?

Back projection appeals the most to me but I loose a lot of space. I would like to know if I can get a meter wide projection from a 4 foot distance on a standared 800x600 projector.

    Any thoughts on this?

I would go front projection but you will need an ultra short throw projector to avoid the problems you envisaged with shadows etc.

    This should do the trick:

edit: use the projector calculator to experiment with image sizes:

I would go for front projection too.
