Selecting the monitors for an airbus cockpit
Hi ,
After a lot of tests , if you are interested or you are planning to start the construction of an airbus cockpit you have to take in count the size of the monitors .
When i start my own project i bougth 2 19" monitors for the PFD And ND but they are to large (they are blocking the panel where the switchs of the brightness for the pfd and nd are located).
So i recommend to you the next configuration :
One 17 " monitor for the Pfd /ND (Captain side)
One 19" monitor for the Ewd/Sd
One 17" monitor for the Pfd/Nd (FO side)
With this configuration the cockpit size will be very close to the real one .
Best Regards
Christian Eme

Re: Selecting the monitors for an airbus cockpit
Will these monitor sizes work with both, LCD monitor cockpit and older generation monitor cockpit?

Re: Selecting the monitors for an airbus cockpit
The 19" in the center should be vertically mounted but I would think that a widescreen is too narrow.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Display_size here you'll find a decent chart.
http://www.simpit.de/a320dim/page_01.htm here you'll find the real sizes.
The rest should be pretty simple and straightforward
