    Re: FS2PH5 Manage FS Variable

    Hi Alan

I have uninstall FS2PH5, delete the C:\Program Files (x86)\FS2Phidget5 folder and install again.
I have still the same "picture". none FSVariable and also my projekt is still here.
Is there another place where FS2PH5 save variable and project data?
It looks like as FS2PH5 was not uninstall and delete.

    cheers
    Richard

    Re: FS2PH5 Manage FS Variable

    Richard,
I downloaded version from this web site and re-installed.
    I see what problem is.
Setup creates 2 folders named FsVariable4315 and FSVariable4364
This is incorrect. I have corrected for next release.
Here is what to do to fix with version you have:
Rename FSVariables4364.ini in the \Program Files (x86)\FS2Phidget folder to FSVariables4315.ini
Create FSVariable folder in \Program Files (x86)\FS2Phidget
Move FSVariables4315.ini to the FSVariable folder.
Move all files from FSVariable4315 folder to FsVariable folder.
Move all files from FSVariable4364 folder to FsVariable folder.
Add the file from Jess to FSVariable folder.
    Delete FSVariable4315 folder.
    Delete FSVariable4364 folder.
You should be ok when you run program and select FSVariable Manager and when you assign FsVariables.

    Regards,
    Alan

    Re: FS2PH5 Manage FS Variable

    Richard,

    Instructions above are for version4.

When version 5 is installed only the main folder, FS2Phidget5, is created.
Subsidiary folders for FSVariables, Sounds and Projects are created when you subsequently run FS2Phidget.

    Regards,
    Alan.

    Re: FS2PH5 Manage FS Variable

    Hi Alan

    Still using FS2Phidget5.0.21:
I have uninstall FS2. I have delete C:\Program Files (x86)\FS2Phidget5 folder to begin on a green field.
Install FS2, run FS2. I have still my projekt and I have still none FSVariebles.
In C:\Program Files (x86)\FS2Phidget5 are none subfolders.

Did you have an answer for this?

    Cheers
    Richard

    Re: FS2PH5 Manage FS Variable

    Richard,
    I uninstalled FS2Phidget5 and deleted folder C:\Program Files (x86)\FS2Phidget5
Downloaded FS2Phidget5.0.21 from this web site and unzipped on my Win7 64-bit machine.
Ran setup.exe as administrator. Got no error messages and used default settings.
Setup created C:\Program Files (x86)\FS2Phidget5 folder that contained following FsVariable files:
    737_pmMCP.xml, Autothrottle.xml, FSVariables4316.xml
Started FS2Phidget5 using desktop icon shortcut created by setup.
The Phidget Manager annunciator is green with following version displayed:
    Phidget21 - Version 2.1.8 - Built Mar 2011 13:53:46
FS2Phidget5 created FSVariables, Projects and Sounds sub-folders within C:\Program Files (x86)\FS2Phidget5
    Fs2Phidget5 copied following files from C:\Program Files (x86)\FS2Phidget5 to C:\Program Files ...\FsVariables:
    737_pmMCP.xml and FSVariables4316.xml.
    Regards,
    Alan

When I open this folder(I have created) with the windos explorer this folder is empty. Now I save it as Test2. In win-explorer the folder is still empty. In FS2 now with open project I see this new Test2.xml.
I have realy now idea what happen here.

    Re: FS2PH5 Manage FS Variable

Administrator User is NOT the same as "run as administrator" on Win7.
Right-click on Fs2Phidget5 short-cut and select "Properties" from selection.
    Select "Compatibility" tab.
Check "run this program as an administrator" on the "Privileges" section.
    Click "Apply" and click "OK".
See if this makes a difference.
