    Yes I have been thinking on the same problem. If you come up with a good solution to that, I'd
    love to hear it.

    Re: Garmin G1000 pushbuttons

    Well, looks like 3D printing is out for the G1000 turned out it was going to cost
    around $900 AUD... so since I want it to have all the detail of the G1000 panel,
    I guess my only option is to scuplt it myself and use it to build a mold. Least that
    way it will look nice also, just not sure how good the finish will be.

    Re: Garmin G1000 pushbuttons

    Hi,

    I know that this is an old thread. Just trying to find some answers.
    I have a basic question regarding how you guys built the G1000.
    a) You take a 15inch LCD and then drag/move the standard G1000 MFD or PFD onto that monitor.
    b) you create bezels, panels with buttons, map buttons to keystrokes and place the panel with buttons on the LCD monitor.
    c) What happens to the bezel and buttons displayed on the screen ?
    Q1) how do you remove them ?
    Q2) Do you just adjust your physical panel to hide them ?
    Q3) The buttons and rotary will add some thickness and give a gap between the physical panel and the LCD screen. How are you solving for this ?

    let me know.
