The Eagle has landed...my real cockpit arrives!

Back in April I bought an actual nose section from a 737-300. It finally arrived last week and I'm excited as a new father. The picture tells the story. More detail on my website at www.fly737ng.com

So is this it's arrival back at your hangar after your cutting or it's arrival to you before your cutting? Nice piece of aircraft you have there. Will you be flying the friendly skies or do you have a different airline in mind?

I may actually fly it as a United aircraft, but the paint will probably have to change to flat black to control the light spill in my simulator room .

Seriously though, Great piece of hardware! I'm looking forward to progress pics.

What are your overall plans, fixed base or motion, fresnel screens, curved screen or collimated, what vintage instruments, etc. inquiring minds want to know . . .

I suppose United could take offense at you sitting on their nose with a rotary saw Just had me thinking of a new show "When Flight Simmers Attack". Severely kidding around. Great pic though...

Can't wait to see what grows from this insanely huge acorn.

PS: I kinda like the black United better anyway. Don't know if they had 737's with that color though? The deep blue is almost a black?

Lots of new pictures in a gallery at the bottom of the home page. To answer Tom's questions: fixed base for now until motion gets cheaper and easier, curved screen for now until collimated gets easier (looks like a lot of smart people are well on their way to that one), NG instruments.

Unless you can find a reasonably priced source of Mylar that's wider than 54", you'll never have a collimated display on that awesome setup. However, you could build some "old-school" beam-splitter based collimated displays. A good source of that kind of thing is old sims that use it and are having their visual systems upgraded.

Hi,
I bought my nose section off Ebay - they come up every so often.
It is not a 737 but a business jet and I am in the early stages of bringing it back to life.
