Question Need help with Fire panel

    Hey guys,

I bought the Poldragonet fire panel. There is no instruction or guide with it to show you how to assemble the different parts & pieces. Now some are obvious but others (like the fire handles) are not. I mailed Poldragonet but no replies.

If I remember correctly there is at least 1 person on this forum that has the same panel and already built it (but can't remember who).

Surely would appreciate some help here.

    Thanks,

    JWS

    Hi

I have just assembled on and can help you out, superglue is required

For firehandle put the smalest ring onto the rotary shaft first, then the bigger one glue the togeter and then the handle at the top. They act like a support for the handle itself.

Re: Need help with Fire panel

    Hi RG,

    thanks for the offer.

First of all, it's my impression that the top panel and the back panel cannot be put directly on top of each other. This is due to the fact that the annunciators are to thick and will stick out above the top panel if you don't keep the 2 panels at some distance apart. This maybe also calls for certain measures to be taken to fix the annunciators in place.

    2. The handles are a story of their own.
    * I received 3 rotary encoders with round shafts. The ring you mention is D-shaped (and too wide), so this is not very helpful.
    * Next, I wonder if the white layer on top of the upper part of the handle can/has to be removed so the handle becomes clear red.
    * On the bottom half of the handle there seems to be a same white layer. Dos this have to stay on of must it be removed also?

    3. How to light up the handles? How to interface the panel?

    4. Can you show a picture of your results?

    Thanks,

    JWS

Re: Need help with Fire panel

    Hi,
If no-one sorts a photo of a completed panel before the weekend I can take a photo of a completed panel for you, unfortunately I cannot tell you the exact steps required to put it together as mine was already complete...
The red perspex handle tops were supplied with double sided tape and so stick to the handle tops, maybe this is the 'white layer' you mentioned?
    Cheers

Re: Need help with Fire panel

I found impossible to light the fire handles because they are not designed to do so, if you place a led on the bottom it will not light the handle completely and it will not look good, i tried many times.

For interfasing, you will have to wire all annunciastors and connect the to an I/O card, im working with mine using the FDS sys card.

Ill post later a video on youtube

    Juan Carlos,

there is a small hole to put a LED in, but did you drill the hole further? Looking forward to see the video.

    RG,

no sweat, hope you can help me during the weekend.

    Mike,

It does not appear as double sided tape. It's very thin, I don't dare to peel it off until I'm aboslutely sure that it is the way to do it.

Thank you all and I'll await further info when you guys have had time.

    Regards,
    JWS

    Very thin white film ?

most likely the protective film that protects the plastic plate it was lasercut out of.

Re: Need help with Fire panel

I built it according with the instructions given by Jacob from POLDRAGONET, here is the video.

By the way, im planning to replace this panel with another one, maybe FDS or CPFLIGHT

Re: Need help with Fire panel

    Hi

    fire panel 001.jpg

I glued the back panel straight onto the main panel, maybe the annunciators is too high, but in my case that is fine.

And as said previously all white film needs to be taken off. Can't remember that the red handles had any.

The rotary switches has to be set for 3 positions, and even if the rings have a D shape I pushed them on the shaft. And as you see from the picture I glued them together to with the handle to keep it strong.

And with lights it is not that important for us, but I have seen an solution where red LEDs where actually put on the pedestal side, then they light up the handle. Sorry have no picture of this. Will use white LEDs in the case for backlighs.

    Regards

    RG
