    hello i need help how do rotary encoders work i want to make a push/pull throttle with one? thanks.

    Hi Zach,

    I am sure you need to make this with a sliding potentiometer and not the rotary encoder. If this is correct there is a tutorial on Flightsim.com. From their main menu, you navigate to the How-to Section. This is for a cessna if I remember rightly.

    Zach,

    That link shows the hardware. You will still need the interface to the computer. An old joystick is probably the cheapest way to get a card that works with pots.
