    B777 Build Update

I know it's been a while but I have been actively building (occasionally), in between other life activities as can be seen below. The 777 is coming along nicely and most software to run it is already in place and ready to go.

    Ken.

Very nice! The 777 has a lot of shapes and angles, so I appreciate how much work it must have been to get everything to mate properly.

Thanks Robert, you were one of my first inspirations for the T7, I only wish I could get more time to devote to it so I can get it to working shape.

    Cheers,

    Ken.

That means a lot to me Ken. I'm finding myself playing a lot of catchup with all the neat stuff that's out there now I know what you mean about finding time to build. It's amazing how fast an entire year can get away from you when other stuff is going on.

    What's next for your project?

Well next is the flooring where I'll need to mount the control columns. I have the columns and yokes (767) and all the mechanics made by Gwyn (Westozy), he's also finising off the custom MIP. Monitors mounts are complete and monitors have been raped of their bezels for the slimest install possible so I can get items such as gear levers in behind it. Thankfully the T7 doesn't have much in the way of switches and flaps indicators etc. like the 737 on the MIP. I have another friend making custom radio heads and overhead panels for me so I'll need to get onto the overhead housing and therefore some sort of roofing to hold it. And on and on it goes. Lots of work to do but lots of fun along the way.

I see yours is taking shape nicely. I bet real parts make a huge difference?

    Re: B777 Build Update

That's a full plate! Please share pics as I'm rebuilding my MIP soon and could use the inspiration I had my overhead mounted, but it moved too much when buttons were pressed so I have to redesign it. I definitely like real parts, but they take FOREVER to find and the prices can be utterly laughable sometimes! I'm still looking for an LCD screen to fit the lower EICAS. I understand 10.1" to 10.4" will fit, but I haven't found a good one that includes the VGA connector. Any suggestions?

Here Robert, a few builders and myself have bought these with no problems and they work great. The support both S-Video and VGA inputs.

Next on order for myself, is the 5 inch screens for the CDU's.

    Re: B777 Build Update

    Hi Robert,

I've actually customized my centre ped to take one CDU (FDS) and a 17" LCD for the Lower EICAS plus a dummy CDU as can be seen by the pic below. This is fine as I don't want to go to the expense of two CDU's and the 17" is 1280x1024 resolution at bugger all cost as I have plenty lying around This would be more difficult for you as you have a real Boeing ped.
