GoFlight RMK 166 Instructions
Anyone have setup instructions for an rmk 166 from Goflight? I have a chance to buy one, but am looking at specs for encoders and 7 segment displays. I would greatly appreciate anyone who has one sharing, as there are no support docs on GoFlights site for the RMK boards.

Re: GoFlight RMK 166 Instructions
Hi, I have most of the documentation for those units as I have tried for the last 4 months to build 2 of them for my Mac based trainer. I placed the remains of the project on eBay. Let me know if you want me to email any documents that I have. I don't think for legal reasons I can post them here.
Cheers

Not to hijack the thread, but I will include a Alps dual encoder with the auction free if the winner is a MyCockpit member.

Re: GoFlight RMK 166 Instructions
I see you have wired the RMK tot Opencockpits 6 digit display pcb's.
I didnt know this was possible.
I have 2of those RMK's (a mcp and a radio), but no display pcb's and goflight doesnt sell them anymore i think. So the Open Cockpits solution is perfect.
Any chance you'd share the wiring diagram here ? (i cant find a pin layout to the RMK display ports).
Thanks
Stef

Re: GoFlight RMK 166 Instructions
I found the rmk166 wiring diagram here:
http://www.goflightinc.com/appnotes6digit.pdf
It seem to be an old file on the root of their website. How knows what else is there.....

Re: GoFlight RMK 166 Instructions
I purchased the 6 digit 7 segment displays assembled with common cathode displays. This turned out to not work and I had to replace the displays with common anode. This did work. The only issue I ran into was the lack of a decimal point. This is not an issue with the go flight board but instead with the open cockpits cards. An easy fix is to hard wire from another source or tie it into the "1". Other than that , they worked great. If I had to do it again, I would get the kit without the displays from Open Cockpits, saves a little on the wallet.
