Cannot get MCP to work with provided script

    Hi Nico,

This is what I have done so far:

    - MCP Plugged in, has Device number 50

    - Added line "MASTER=2,5,1,502 to SIOC.ini (had to do this manually as OCM application completely writes a fresh SIOC script; don't want my current .ini being erased)

    - Configured the "config_sioc.ini" file to this, to run multiple scripts:

    Code:
    2
    mcp_767.ssi
    ServoVSI.ssi
Where ServoVSI.ssi is my normal SIOC script & mcp_767.ssi is your provided MCP file.

    - Run the group compiler in SIOC. I get the following error message:

Please could you provide advise on what I have done wrong?

Also, if you can see if I have missed ANYTHING (ie forgot to add a line of code, anything); please tell me.

    Kind regards,

    Jack

    Hi Jack,

Your config.sioc.ini file is not correct. In there you should refer to .txt files (not .ssi files) ...

If you want to use my OC MCP737 scripts for the 767 you should take the config_sioc.ini from lekseecon\ocm\mcp (containing references to 11 files) and add your ServoVSI txt file to that. Adjust in config_sioc.ini the path to lekseecon if it is not at drive D:\

    regards,
    Nico

Re: Cannot get MCP to work with provided script

    Hi Nico,

Thanks for that. I have changed this, and run the following:

    Code:
    2
    D:\lekseecon\cockpit767\6.1_ColdAndDark.txt
    D:\lekseecon\cockpit767\6.2_TestLightsMIP.txt
    D:\lekseecon\mcp767\3.3_MCP_IAS.txt
    D:\lekseecon\mcp767\3.3_MCP_HDG.txt
    D:\lekseecon\mcp767\3.3_MCP_VS.txt
    D:\lekseecon\mcp767\3.3_MCP_ALT.txt
    D:\lekseecon\mcp767\3.3_MCP_leds.txt
    D:\lekseecon\mcp767\3.3_MCP.txt
    ServoVSI.txt
But now, I get an "invalid filename" error.

Re: Cannot get MCP to work with provided script

That means one (or more) of the fie names is not correct.

Is lekseecon at your D: drive? If not adjust the pathnames in this config_sioc.ini.
Is ServoVSI.txt in the SIOC folder?

    Edit:
another error: you have taken the wrong mcp files. For the OC you should take the scripts from lekseecon\ocm\mcp
(like I posted...) not from lekseecon\mcp767. The latter are for a real 767 MCP, not for the OC MCP737 used as 767 MCP...

Re: Cannot get MCP to work with provided script

    Hi Nico,

I have changed everything (it was C not D).

Now I get the following error:

    SIOC_config.ini file:

    Code:
    2
    C:\lekseecon\cockpit767\6.1_ColdAndDark.txt
    C:\lekseecon\mcp767\3.3_MCP_IAS.txt
    C:\lekseecon\mcp767\3.3_MCP_HDG.txt
    C:\lekseecon\mcp767\3.3_MCP_VS.txt
    C:\lekseecon\mcp767\3.3_MCP_ALT.txt
    C:\lekseecon\mcp767\3.3_MCP_leds.txt
    C:\lekseecon\ocm\mcp\3.3_MCP737_generic.txt
    C:\lekseecon\ocm\mcp\3.3_MCP737.txt
    C:\lekseecon\ocm\mcp\6.2_TestLightsMIP_MCP737.txt
    C:\lekseecon\ocm\mcp\3.3_MCP737_VOR1Crs.txt
    C:\lekseecon\ocm\mcp\3.3_MCP737_VOR2Crs.txt
    ServoVSI.txt
I thought that the group compiler was meant to prevent variable clashes? The ServoVSI.txt compiles fine on its own.

It does, it prevents Variable number clashes, not variable name clashes...
I use in 3.3_MCP_IAS.txt a variable with the name IAS, and so do you in your ServoVSI file ...
I recommend you change your file, because you know your own file best.

Re: Cannot get MCP to work with provided script

    Hi Nico,

I have renamed that variable.. But now I get a new error:

Interestingly, ServoVSI.txt compiles file on its own, and the group compiling file you provided also runs fine on its own. It's jsut when compiling together I get this new error.

Please note, this error MUST lie within one of the Lekseecon files. The ServoVSI.txt file only has a line range of 1644 lines, and the error is in line 1750

Re: Cannot get MCP to work with provided script

    Jack,

Why are you doing that? You only have to rename that var in ServoVSI.txt (with a text editor) and then run the Group compiler again...

I do not write scripts via the GUI and then Export it to txt (because it changes the layout of your program; i want to be in charge).
I prefer to write scripts in Notepad and then I compile these scripts with the Group compiler in Config_sioc.

    That is very unlikely: because
    1) my OC modules files (note it has nothing to do with lekseecon) have been compiled several times already
    2) Config_sioc starts numbering with the first of my files and then continues numbering in your file.....
Edit: a nice test would be to put ServoVSI.txt first in config_sioc.ini (after the line with the 2), compile and check the line number of the error... my guess, it will be below 1644 ...
