What is this plane? i was so excited i forgot to take a picture of it from far away.

Re: El Mirage CA Lots of images

I have to admit Matt I only could stay for about an hour or so and I honestly thought of brushing off my prior commitment. I originally went to get some dimensions from a DC3 cockpit. I have to say that both the people i talked to were very nice and really cool with the idea of letting me in the facility. I plan on going back and trying to get as many cockpit details as i can from the various aircraft they have there. As I walked through the yard I just could not believe how many cockpit sections they have. The salvage yard mainly deals with Hollywood. There was a pile of burnt and disfigured Huey's in the side of the yard i think i counted 15 total. When i saw them i immediately thought of all those movies i have seen where a Huey was sot down or blown up . There is a front section of an Apache helo and as i got closer to it i could see that it was custom built it is not a real Apache but it looks damn close. I thought i got a picture of the outside of it but i only got images of the inside. it was made from metal square tubing and wood. When i go back i will take more pics of it.

So will they sell stuff to us? And do you have some contact info for them? I will be down there this month and I'm thinking maybe I should be driving, with my trailer...

    There website is http://aviationwarehouse.net

I work near the boneyard and have spent many-o-hour roaming around the lot looking at all of this wonderful stuff. If you happen to find yourself remotely in the area, you should definately check them out. They have tons of instruments as well.

Mark Thomson is the owner and has always been very friendly and willing to chat.
