    Nick & Sean,

Thank you for your help. It all make sense. Reason should be a factor to enable a fine balance. But sharing experiences is critical.
I followed the route of drawing and have my MIP laser cut. It is fine because a lot of money can be initially saved but you loose on accuracy.
Nick very nice video, fantastic setup. What is it? Engravity + PM?
    Sean, nice photos

    Thanks,
    JAC

    Hi Jac,

    Thanks for your kind words

My setup is a mix of Cockpitsonic MIP, Flyengravity & CP flight hardware + revolution Simproducts TQ all together with PM software.

As far as your initial question, in my opinion you can't go wrong either way.... just decide which is the most important to you.

    Thanks

    Re: EICAS screen

    Nick,

Let me ask you a couple of questions:
    1. what is the eight from the floor to the top of the MIP (just below the MCP)?
    2. when you look at the MIP from the side - what is the angle the MCP face makes with the floor? it seems from photos that the glare shield is inclined to the ceiling of the cabin (closer to the pilots) but the face of the MCP makes 90º with the floor. Please clarify if possible.

    Best regards,
    JAC

    Re: EICAS screen

    If I may...

    1. The height from the floor to the rear of the MCP (where it meets the MIP) is about 940mm. From the floor to the front of the MCP is 1000mm (all dimensions +/- a few mm).

    2. The MIP is angled back 15 degrees from the vertical. The underside of the MCP is perpendicular to this, ie. 15 degrees from horizontal. The MCP face is parallel with the MIP, 15 degrees from the vertical.

This photo helps show the angles...

    Re: EICAS screen

    Sean,
The photo where you are sitting in a cockpit is that your setup?
I have been measuring my MIP height and it is around 900mm. I need to add 40mm to the base of it.
The width is 1505mm. Is this close to the reality?
    Best regards,
    JAC

iPad retina screen for $55 EmerytHacks: Connecting an iPad retina LCD to a PC
The size is 9.7" with a resolution of 2048x1536! Will this work nicely for a lower EICAS screen?
