    Really good homemade cheap Annunciators

Hi, as I am building my Cockpit I tested a new way for the Annunciators. I got this file here: http://users.skynet.be/jcordon/cockp...head/annun.jpg and copied one of the Annunciators for a test. At my local copyshop I let them print it on Plexi. First off I started with only one. The result is brilliant! The only thing is that the man at the shop won't cut the pieces of 11*24 mm from plexi because it's too much work for him. I understand that :P So in this week I'll slowly start to cut all the pieces and hopefully will be able to let him print them in the next few weeks.

    Some pics: (only a test)

Are you sure those will fit your cockpit? they look a bit BIG!

Just kidding - those are great. But please, resize your pics before upload - 8 megapixels is too much.

here's a pic with a led in the back and a film. Note that these aren't the leds i'll be using but it can give a good impression of the lightproofness. link to pic --> http://x737cockpit.files.wordpress.c...3/dscn0612.jpg

You can see the same principle here:

    http://home.hccnet.nl/jwopdenakker/building%20tip.html

More specific the pdf on that page:

    http://home.hccnet.nl/jwopdenakker/d...rry_fronts.pdf

    BUT beware:
On your annunciators the black does not to be real real black black .. if I see it right ?
On the site mentioned above the printshop (who did it on Lexan=Polycarbonate) was asked to print it 4 times (!) the same to have black, really black.

yes that's true I saw this page once I think - but if you dim the LEDs and put the correct film between the Annunciator and Plexi cube (i got that idea from this page) you will have the black in black and only the writing in red or whatever - i hope xD but if not I'm also happy because I didn't spend too much money and it looks "real" ;D

edit: thx that you posted the link - it was exactly this page I just forgot the link/didn't bookmark it

    Hey!

Thanks for your PM and the picture here. That is a much cheaper solution than paying a professional engraver.
