    Lekseecon v7.1 problem

    Hi Nico,

I hope you had a good Xmas and best wishes for the New Year.

I have upgraded to v7.1 and I am having strange problems.
After starting lekseecon which should give me a cold and dark cockpit the following is happening:

Most of my segments are illuminated on the overhead, mcp and pedestal. None of my switches are working.
I put v7.0 back on and all was fine, below are the two versions log files. Seems to be missing info at the top of the v7.1 file. Can you please have a look to see if you can see the cause for this.

    lekseecon version 7.1

    Re: Lekseecon v7.1 problem

    Hi Mick,
Strange indeed... But under 7.0 you have even more problems according to the log file...
How do you start SIOC and lekseecon? Via FSUIPC?

    If so, try the following:
Start FS9/X, wait till everything is running, delete SIOC (so lekseecon will stop too).
Then start SIOC manually, wait 2 seconds, start lekseecon, and look whether you see a difference.

If not, so you are starting SIOC and lekseecon manually, start sioc, wait 2 seconds, start lekseecon.

    Nico

BTW: there is nothing missing in the log file, the log file has changed. Note also that 7.1 now detects your Var508 (492 vars instead of 491)

    Re: Lekseecon v7.1 problem

    Hi Nico,

    Thanks for the help.

"If not, so you are starting SIOC and lekseecon manually, start sioc, wait 2 seconds, start lekseecon."

This is the method I use for starting up.

The more problems under v7.0 I presume is the amount of "No info about rotaries". This seems to be hit and miss, if I start and shut down sioc a few times the only ones shown are then only the ones in my rotary file.

I have just bought Win 7 Professional and done a complete system re-install as I was having only one problem prior. I split up my single file into multiples in order to sort it out, to no avail and was hoping my old system was at fault. I have not yet been able to test this out but hope it is cured.
The problem I was having was a new one with the MCP/CRS segments sometimes not responding to the rotary encoder turns or they would not dial correctly, the segment readings would climb up and down before settling down again to the correct reading. I found it was being caused by using the codes for the VOR CRS with the MCP codes that had segments related to them.

    Regards
    Mick

    Re: Lekseecon v7.1 problem

    Hi Mick,

I was indeed referring to the "No info about rotaries". In 7.1 I did not see that, and from that log all looks fine to me.

From your last post it is not yet clear to me whether you still have the C&D issue... and/or switches not working ??? really?

    Re: Lekseecon v7.1 problem

    Hi Nico,

Yes I still have the C&D and no working switches problem.

I have just tried again after rebooting the computer, no difference and the log file still looks the same.

    Mick,
Oops. Is lekseecon still running when you have that problem? Go to the task manager, and look for lekseecon.exe in processes tab.

    Re: Lekseecon v7.1 problem

    Hi Nico,

Yes lekseecon is still running in processes.

Just tried turning the rotaries connected with the segments and some of the segments went blank.
The log file now shows this at the bottom "windows function error: 6" I think this has to do with some windows services closing.

    Re: Lekseecon v7.1 problem

    Hi Mick,
Have you tried starting lekseecon for the second time while SIOC is still running (after the problem occurs)?
And: have you tried to load a non C&D flight?

    Hi Nico,

Have just tried both suggestions but no change.
The windows reported error only happened twice not showing now.

    Re: Lekseecon v7.1 problem

    Hi Mick,
I would like to mail you a lekseecon 7.1 version with trace facility, that will log a lot what is happening.
If you could run once again with that version and sent me the log via mail.
Please mail me (not p.m.) but normal mail then I'll return the lekseecon zip file, just unzip and put the lekseecon.exe over yours.
You can find a mail adress of me in the SIOC source files in for instance the ocm folder of lekseecon.

    Nico
